Ideologies and opinions

Life means so many things. Life cannot be described, not because it is complicated, but because everybody has her own understanding of it and the human race would never converge to one definition.

I am a person with heads in many directions. I have lived life from the point of view of many people. And this casual attitude of mine towards life in my earlier days has given me the eye to see life in many forms. I have been the spoilt rich kid, I have helped the needy(not monetarily, but those beaten down my life), I have loved the cities, I have loved the open fields. They are phases in my life. They don't define me completely, but define what I could have been, but never became.

What it all led to is, that during a very bad phase in my life, I had the time to sit and read back my life. I wish I could tell you that I created a perfect life from that, but I didn't. All I got from that retrospection is the power to differentiate and to judge. I don't judge the absolute right or wrong, I just judge the right and wrong for that moment, that phase, that life, but not only mine.

Now people don't have the time these days to read their life. (Yes, that is one of my conclusions from the above mentioned retrospect). People are so busy with so many things which are not important, that they forget important things. These important things are not God, family, love, but the self. Nobody asks, let alone answer, the important question - "what's this life for?" We live our days, but forget that the years are passing by. Some people do answer the question, but with foolish things like money, fame, etc. See, there is nothing wrong with money or fame, but all it does it help a few generations below you to live better. It does not serve your purpose on earth. I only advice one simple thing - dream, explore, pray and then wait for your calling. Callings are very simple. My one calling is to help people who are struggling emotionally and I know that it is something which I not only enjoy, but which serves a higher purpose.

Coming to the topic I really wanted to discuss, I wish people were more patient and less focused. Ask yourself, have you not found and totally loved that hidden lake you discovered when you decided to break away from the pre-defined tour? Don't you love that unexpected holiday? Do you know why? Because that is life. It is about exploring and gently flowing to life's rhythm. I am writing this directly to people with such strong wills that they start to think of them as life. It may serve them well for years, but life never follows any rules. And when life takes that funny bend, they find themselves struggling to preserve their faith. They just can't let go, because they believe in the absolute. Life, I think, does not like absolute, quite like air and water.

Please find the time to discover your calling and then enjoy the music of life.

God bless

Wormholes

Einstein talked of the space-time fabric, the fact that God does not play dice. The fact that we meet and interact with others when our space-time lines meet. The person to whom you have the remotest possibility to meeting, comes in our life. Luck or space-time fabric, I don't know.
Then again, is it part of a divine plan? Something that you should take ahead? Something you should leap into? Or it is something that you should not bother too much about, because of the space-time wormholes? Wormholes, which push you away from that person in just one go? To a place too far away from them.
Thinking more intensely, I feel that we have underestimated the number of wormholes. Why? Because I often find myself standing in places which is surrounded by wormholes and like a checkmated king, all moves push me far away, except, that there is no game-over...

I have to make that move.

Strangeways Inside

This is a song not many people would enjoy/appreciate/understand. But I hope, like me, there would be few others who would let their hearts touched by this song...

(Since I couldn't find the song to buy anywhere around me, I'm making an excuse to use a stolen copy so people can listen to this wonderful song. I hope the copy-right holders would allow me to use it, for a short time...)

Oh and for a start up, Strangeways is a prison in England, where only the most dangerous criminals are taken, it's a wild wild world in there.

...But this song feels like the low time in which even those people regret what they have done and want to be normal and LOVE.

The cost of words

Words, sentences, language the signs of humans being intelligent. But...

Words are all around us, a beautiful bunch can become a song. The sharp chosen ones can puncher the heart, water the eyes and even kill a man (as Tenali Rama did).

But silence speaks louder than words and used correctly, silence along with void(in the written world) is a power used by only the most experienced.

Even the fox tells the Little Prince - 'I shall look at you out of the corner of my eye, and you will say nothing. Words are the source of misunderstandings. But you will sit a little closer to me, every day . . ' [Extract from here]

Try to enjoy a silent conversation. Read the mind of the other with your heart, let your heart strings join and form the golden bridge.

My views on ads

I had always wondered why companies spend so much money in ads. I did understand that it's important to introduce the customer to the product and to compare their product with competitor’s product and all that. But, I never understood why we have ads repeated at such short intervals that after one day after, the ad's first appearance, the ad gets so irritating that we develop a dislike for even the product! You know how it goes after that, we start to even make some stupid mocks about the ads yourselves.

But this mad behavior of the ad firms to repeat ads every minute, recently stuck to me as not-so-stupid. And I reached a few conclusions of my own, which I came to from these situations I went through:

One, I went to buy toiletries with my family and I wanted a soap for the summer. And the first product that I could recall was the one which had the ad I hated the most. The one I hated so much, I had even started hating the mock-up of it that I'd myself created. So obviously i didn't want to buy it. So I bought the other one? Well no, I didn't buy any thing other. I bought that exact same thing I never wanted to buy. Why? Well cause that ad had filled my head with “summer+soap” so much I couldn't recall any other soap! I spent 5 minutes scratching my head before I had no choice. So I guess that conclusion number one is : the repeated ads are used to brainwash you and to eliminate the competition from every living brain cell in your head.

Two, I came home tired one evening. Wanted to rest and was happy eating a biscuit, cause I didn't want to get up and make a proper snack for myself. But there it was on the TV, Maggi, maggi, maggi, every 15 seconds I could see those people in the TV slurping away those unhealthy noddles, taunting every taste-buds in my mouth that they were so “deprived”! After 15 minutes, I had joined them in the slurping. So I conclude, it's not only important for the companies that you buy the product, but also that you consume it fast enough so that you buy more and that's where those ads strike at the right place and time.

Anything I missed?

My feelings on Lansdowne

Hello friend,

I recently visited Lansdowne and would like to share my heart's words on that place...

It's a small proud place. Standing all alone and with no fear or loneliness, without the hustle and bustle that marks most modern hill stations of India. It has an air of it's own which can be summed as 'just right'. It's as if it says- whatever I am, I am just right.

There is an obvious displeasure in the visitors here, when they realize there is nothing much to visit here except a lake, a museum and a church. But this does not seem to effect this place to even the smallest degree. Its as if, some unknown strength holds it in upright in it's place and manner.

I don't mean to say it's a old and broken down neglected place, in fact it's too well kept for a hill town, but it's a still place. It's like an expensive strong box you bought , but you never found anything to keep in in. But at the same time, you never had the heart to throw it or even to not clean it. And like the peace that would be there inside that box, there is a peace in this place too. But it's not of heavenly nature, it's just a forced peace, a self contained peace.

It's so peaceful, that quite the way one would walk by that box, without giving much credit, passerby crossing Lansdowne do drive by this place, without too much notice or awe. But it does leave it's mark in a keen eyed passerby's head, especially due to it's distinct vegetation. While all around is a pine forest, Lansdowne has a lush green vegetation of a large variety of trees. And like that passerby on the road, it's visitors also move on in life, without missing Lansdowne much.

I may never come back to this place but, where ever I may be, my heart says that this place shall not change much, maybe because of it's pride or maybe because there is nothing to for it to grow to. But so is the life in the hills...
